This past Saturday October 4th a benefit rodeo was held in Preston Idaho for Karla Hawkes Mrs. Eastern Idaho's 5 year old son Kallon. Kallon has Cerebral Palsy and is scheduled to have surgery on his legs in January. All proceeds raised from the rodeo will go to off set the cost of the wheelchair and medication. The Shriners Hospital will be providing for and facilitating the surgery. Pictured above is Mrs. Idaho America 2008 Jackie Walker, Mrs. Treasure Valley 2009 Sonya Hoadley, Mrs. Eastern Idaho 2009 Karla Hawkes and Mrs. Firth 2008 Tommy Phillips.
As a side note on Saturday it rained the entire day. I have to say that the cowboys and cowgirls who participated showed true spirit by not letting the rain deter them from having a successful rodeo. Karla said that they raised enough money for Kallen's wheelchair so I would say despite the rain the rodeo was a success.

What a great time we had! It was an honor to be part of such a great cause. Kallon was the most adorable boy and had the sweetest personality. The people of Preston roughed it through the rain and really showed how great the people of Idaho are. Thanks for letting us be a part of this amazing day!
